Is It Important To Choose The Right Bathtub?

People often underestimate the importance of selecting our the right bath tub. Surprisingly, most people spend a large amount of their time in their bathrooms.

If you are remodeling or rennovating your existing bathroom or building your own custom home, you should think long and

hard about the size, shape, color and other features of your bathtub. Obviously, you can only work with the space provided to you in your house, apartment or condominium - but you will be surprised with the options afforded to you now.

First, the color of the bathtub. Most people will agree that the color of your tub should match the colors of your bathroom. The nice thing about bathtubs is that you are no longer limited to just the plain, porcelain, white tub anymore. There are a vast array of color schemes that you will be able to choose from. You can choose bold and vivid colors like red, blue, pink or green or stay more modern with the light brown or off-white colors.

Next is the size of the bathtub. Obviously the general consensus out there is that the larger size of the bathtub, the more expensive it will be. You also have the options of choosing a one or two person bath tub. Clearly, if you choose the two person bath tub, it will take up more space than the typical one person bath tub - which will also result in an increase in water usage as well. Whatever size you choose, always be aware that the size is large enough to support your neck, back and head.

Finally, you will need to consider the extra features of the bathtub you select. One of the great things about bathtubs in this day and age is that there are so many different features that come with the bathtubs. A few of the standard features that have been around for some time now are typical jets or whirlpools. However, the market now offers multiple features with bathtubs such as walk-in bath tubs, free standing tubs and traditional Japanese deep bathtubs that come with mini massagers. I have become a big fan of the walk-in tubs which are basically tubs that have a door that opens and you then walk through the door and then the door closes with a water-tight sealant that prevents any leakage. The walk-in tubs are great for those with handicaps or those who are senior citizens.

I think most of us will agree that a big long soak inside a tub is a great way to finish off the day after working hard or playing sports. Therefore, before you select a tub, be sure to take the above items into consideration and do not skimp on your quality of life!
