Summer in Minnesota guarantees a few things - there will be mosquitoes, there will be sun and just when you are outside playing with the kids or grilling up some bar-b-que there will most definitely be a menacing dark cloud rolling your way.

It just cannot be avoided. Severe weather in the form of hail and wind strikes with some frequency here and, it seems the only thing you can do is head for the basement.

After the storm is when the dread sinks in. The questions about what does the exterior of the house look like, the plants, the trees. . . the roof. Unfortunately, all too often the outcome is not pretty. Even though you cannot control the weather, you can control what is about to happen to your home. You are in charge of hiring the contractor to make the repairs.

Many are easily swayed by the flock of door-to-door contractors that head their way.

They will offer deals of the century and unbeatable prices. Be wary. Anyone can come knocking. Many of those that do many not be licensed in your area, insured or even reputable. Consider researching first. Co-workers, neighbors, and friends will give you their honest opinion and it could make all the difference. If you still aren't sure, let the internet be your guide.

Finding local contractors should be a breeze and their credentials, portfolio and resume will be at your finger tips.
