At regular intervals, the under the counter water filter system requires cartridge replacement, just like other systems for filtration of water.

In order to install an under the counter water filter, one has to identify the pipe feeding cold water to the tap, by looking under the sink. Following that, the filter's cartridge has to be installed into its housing. The under the counter water filter's housing's output side can be connected to the blue tube from the tap.

Under The Counter Water Filters Are They Simple To Use?

Unlike some portable water filters, the faucet and which have a direct connection, the under the counter water filters are directly attached to the plumbing under the counter. An under the counter water filter remains out of sight and does not have to be turned off or on, even as it provides a constant supply of clean water.

The parts required for the installation of an under counter water filter and the instructions that are relevant are generally

supplied along with the filter system. The cold water tap and the main water tap have to be connected with the under the counter water filter through a feed line, even as a there is no requirement for a separate drain line. Compared with the water filters that can be attached with taps, under the counter water filters require considerably more work in terms of installation.

Within a period of time that generally does not exceed an hour, homeowners may install an under the counter water filter system on their own or they may call upon a plumber to install the filter system. Many people prefer the under the counter water filter system because it helps to save counter space, besides the fact that after it has been installed, it is quite unobtrusive and also because the operation of the filter system is quite transparent.

The cover is replaced after replacing the cartridge. This follows the installed cartridge having been replaced with a new one, subsequent to the unscrewing of the cover. Simple tasks, therefore, need to be performed in this regard, after the fitting of the under the counter water filter system, under the sink. At regular intervals, the under the counter water filter system requires cartridge replacement, just like other systems for filtration of water.

In order to install an under the counter water filter, one has to identify the pipe feeding cold water to the tap, by looking under the sink. One may keep the hot tap running for a minute or two, in order to help in the process of identification, if it is not immediately clear as to which is the pipe that one is looking for. The pipes can then be touched and the warm and the cold one distinctly identified.

The saddle valve clamping device then has to be installed on a section of the pipe, after ensuring that there are no obstructions or corrosion. The device that has tubing attached to it and resembles a small clamp is the saddle valve. Depending upon the pipe's diameter, the appropriate side has to be selected while setting the clamp's small mounting block on to the pipe, followed by the tightening of the nut at the base, after fitting the clamp over the mounting block and the pipe.

The red end of the tube can then be placed in a receptacle, like a bucket. The copper pipe has to be pierced by fully turning the T-bar handle down in the clockwise direction. Following that the housing bracket of the filter has to be mounted on to the cabinet, at a suitable location, making use of the screws supplied. Following that, the filter's cartridge has to be installed into its housing. The cartridge may simply have to be placed appropriately into the housing or to be screwed in. Once that is done, the filter housing has to be re-assembled and mounted on the bracket.

The drinking water tap or faucet for the under the counter water filter then has to be installed by drilling a hole in the sink or worktop, at a suitable location. Once the tap and its tubing is in place, the red tube in the bucket can then be connected to the filter housing's input side. The under the counter water filter's housing's output side can be connected to the blue tube from the tap. Water can flow to the tap, through the filter housing, where it flows in to from the red tube, once the saddle valve's T-bar is turned anti-clockwise.
