In the modern age of music, people expect something more to accompany with a band rather than a brisk tune. Most of the popular albums include artwork that plays a large role in the achievement of artists. The reason behind this is artwork helps to make a great interaction with the fans in front of the curtain and the actual participants. It will help the listeners to understand not only the basics of music but also the members of the band and their importance with music. Experts say that you can tell a lot about a band from looking at their art work, including where they are from, what type of music it is,what they are interested in, how much time and money they put forward into their album, and so on. This is why it is really important that a band take their time and put serious thought and consideration into any album that they produce, not only in terms of the recorded CD inside, but just as equally to the outfit that surrounds it. In general, in this technological world, a highly designed album cover is a necessity for the band to mark its success. This fact is considered seriously and the main reason behind this is to attain success in marketing. Think of a person going out to shop some music CDs randomly, you can find that the first thing that attracts the person is an attractive album cover. Therefore, it is understood that a CD cover with good artwork helps a brand to gain popularity of music and attain large number of fans. Excellent Album Covers There are various lists and surveys that have been done regarding the best album covers of all time, and a few in particular that always top the lists are: Blues for Allah - Grateful Dead, Yessongs - Yes, Relayer - Yes, Over-Night Sensation - Zappa, and Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin. It is important to realize here that not only is the actual album cover itself, what you see, important, but so is the inside of the album cover, where the lyrics of the recorded songs are usually displayed. Elton John's 1973 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road CD, for instance, was very popular for its pictures that accompanied each song on the lyrics sheet. Rebels Then there are those bands who are rebels to conformity or who otherwise just want to stand out from the crowd. The Hard-Fi band for instance, marketed an album without artwork, and although it caused a lot of negative and even confused controversy at first, it is now actually considered as potentially being the beginning of a new trend. The ultimate intention behind this creation was to crack the rules of the rapidly growing digital bazaar where the importance lies in the artwork done on the album covers than the lyrics or music recorded in the CD. In both ways, although the style does not work on, the step was a successful one as per the marketing tactics and the band did attain a new form of listeners because of the issues started with the flash news.
